AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS


Each year, FTA’s Safety Management Council (SMC) celebrates fleets, drivers, and safety professionals for their commitment to safety on the roads through the SMC Awards program. The FTA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization administers the Herman Fauss Scholarship, which recognizes and rewards outstanding high school academic performance and overall involvement in community affairs by children and grandchildren of commercial vehicle drivers in Florida.

Driver of the Month/Year

Nominees for the Driver of the Month/Year Award must be employed by or contracted to a member company of Florida Trucking Association, and must have been continuously so employed or contracted for a least one (1) year prior to the nomination date. Nominees must also hold a valid Florida CDL. Due March 15, 2024.

Safety Professional of the Year

The object of this program is to advance standards of excellence for truck fleet safety professionals. The award winner will be honored with a special plaque and ring. Due April 12, 2024.

Fleet Safety Awards

Entries for the Fleet Safety Award must be a member company of Florida Trucking Association and must have an active terminal in the state during the competition period. Due April 12, 2024.

Herman Fauss Scholarship

The Herman Fauss Scholarship, administered by the FTA Foundation, was established to recognize and reward outstanding high school academic performance and overall involvement in community affairs by children and grandchildren of commercial vehicle drivers in Florida. Eligible 2024 graduating high school seniors are the child or grandchild of a full-time commercial vehicle driver: employed for at least one year from this application date by a current, dues-paying member of Florida Trucking Association, and dispatched from a Florida terminal. Due April 12, 2024.
